I'm so happy it's the Olympics right now! I love watching all the sports I can't normally see and knowing so many athletes are there from my area is really cool. Well, I don't have cable either, so it makes it worse. I really can't stand anymore football or baseball.
I've been trying to watch every event today but I keep having other things to do at the same time. I'm so happy that I just got to watch Michael Phelps win the 400m IM and his first gold!!!!!! That's so awesome!!! I love watching him swim...there's never a dull moment since he keeps flying past world record after world record. I feel bad for Ryan Lochte though. I did want him to at least get silver. He's really good too. I thought he had a really good chance to beat Phelps at this race.
I did end up missing May/Walsh play their first game. That was a huge bummer. I love them too. I can't believe they haven't lost a game in a year. That's insane, especially when Misty was hurt at the last Olympics. Now that they're both healthy everyone better watch out. LOL! Can't wait for those showdowns.
Even the lesser watched events are fun for me. This morning 3 USA women swept the stage and won the first medals in fencing. That was exciting. So far we now have 8 medals total and there's so many more to come. I can't wait!
I do have to say what an upset it was to hear about the volleyball player's father. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! The whole thing is just terrible! Don't you wonder what Bush was thinking when he heard it? I do.
