OMG, I was just flipping through my magazine and saw an ad for Snickers Marathon snack bars. What?! Are you serious? It's not like energy bars are bad but does everyone have to get in on it? I can't believe that people would fool themselves into thinking this is actually good for them. I don't think those things are to begin with but this is just stupid. What next?

Entrecard Droppers...Sorry!

I want to post an apology to all of my fellow EC droppers.
I have been having trouble with some of my linked blogs and can't pass security for some reason. I have brought this to their attention twice so far.
Since this has been going on, I cannot drop back or drop at all! I am really sorry and will definitely get you back once this is all fixed.

Just One of Those Days

Have you ever done something so stupid, that it actually stuns YOU? LOL! Well, then you can guess what happened to me yesterday.
After being slammed in the head by the baby and running into all kinds of things with my legs, I decided to use the oven. Yeah, I probably should have guessed what was going to happen by the day I was having. Sometimes when I have the oven on, the hot air will blow out and just about burn my face. I'm sure this happens to most people. So, normally, I'll wait a few seconds for that to pass before I stick any body part too close. Well. Seeing what kind of off day I was having, I went right in, face first. Yup, it was really smart. What happens? My mascara melts on my eyelashes, instantly sticking them together. As a natural reaction, I blink my eyes shut. DUMB! I ended up lightly burning the area underneath my eyes from the hot mascara! *sigh* Crazy I tell ya. LOL!

Blogging Blues

Last fall, I learned a bit about blogs and decided to give it a shot. Too bad I knew nothing about it! I had no idea what I was doing or how to do it.
Now, I have a pretty good idea but I'm starting to get the tiniest bored with it. Sometimes I feel like I don't have enough hours in the day to post, build traffic, and comment on everything I read. How do other people do this? I read other people's stuff, and they can make even wiping their butt interesting. LOL! Am I really this boring? Do I really have nothing to write about?

Maybe not...I just censor too much.

What!?!

I just read about this and had to share.
BERWYN HEIGHTS, MD - Mayor Cheye Calvo got home from work, saw a package addressed to his wife on the front porch and brought it inside, putting on a table.
Suddenly, police with guns drawn kicked in the door and stormed in, shooting to death the couple's two dogs and seizing the unopened package.
In it were 32 pounds of marijuana. But the drugs evidently didn't belong to the couple.
Police say the couple appeared to be innocent victims of a scheme by two men to smuggle millions of dollars worth of marijuana by having it delivered to about a half-dozen unsuspecting recipients.
I'm sure there was a better way for the local police to raid their own mayor, don't you think? This is ridiculous!

WHOO HOO!!!!!
I'm so happy it's the Olympics right now! I love watching all the sports I can't normally see and knowing so many athletes are there from my area is really cool. Well, I don't have cable either, so it makes it worse. I really can't stand anymore football or baseball.
I've been trying to watch every event today but I keep having other things to do at the same time. I'm so happy that I just got to watch Michael Phelps win the 400m IM and his first gold!!!!!! That's so awesome!!! I love watching him swim...there's never a dull moment since he keeps flying past world record after world record. I feel bad for Ryan Lochte though. I did want him to at least get silver. He's really good too. I thought he had a really good chance to beat Phelps at this race.
I did end up missing May/Walsh play their first game. That was a huge bummer. I love them too. I can't believe they haven't lost a game in a year. That's insane, especially when Misty was hurt at the last Olympics. Now that they're both healthy everyone better watch out. LOL! Can't wait for those showdowns.
Even the lesser watched events are fun for me. This morning 3 USA women swept the stage and won the first medals in fencing. That was exciting. So far we now have 8 medals total and there's so many more to come. I can't wait!
I do have to say what an upset it was to hear about the volleyball player's father. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! The whole thing is just terrible! Don't you wonder what Bush was thinking when he heard it? I do.

Alhoa Festival '08
Today we took a family outing to the 14th Annual Aloha Festival hosted by the PICA at San Francisco's Presidio. We love this and are there every year. The food is always 'ono' (where else could you get a fresh malasada?), the music is fantastic, and the shopping is choice. We always love watching the local and not-so-local halaus doing what they do best. The weather, as usual, was foggy since we were by the beach but it was warm enough that it didn't drizzle like last year.
No-No took a minute to warm up to the noise and masses of people but soon made herself right at home. She flirted with the lady next-door and made herself the center of conversation as usual as we ran into family friends. She's such a "ham". Yes-Yes got to visit his favorite vendor, a man that carves and sells beautiful pendants and other things out of wood and bone including mammoth tusk! I, as usual, bought my share of Kelly's Kookies and said hello to Gwen, of Classic Hawaiian Designs, where I buy all of my jewelry. No money this year though.
The only downfall to today was our own Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu of the Academy of Hawaiian Arts, who was missing from the performances. For those of you not familiar with him, you may be surprised that you might recognize him from the Disney movie Lilo & Stitch. He became the ever famous voice of Hawaii as he wrote and preformed "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" with Allen Silvestri, along with "He Mele No Lilo". I absolutely love his music and choreography and is always the fantastic finish to this wonderful gathering. We missed him so much that even DH, who's not as excited to go as I am, said that it didn't feel right without him there.
We missed you Mark!
Watch Mark carve a beautiful Hawaiian drum on You-tube (he is hilarious!) or watch his halau's performance at the Merrie Monarch Festeval '07, last year, which carries the same energy as we love him for.

Cooking Mama

I love this game! Cooking Mama rocks! Unfortunately, it's one of those "cheating" games. You know, the games that you swear cheats when you're so close to beating the level you're on. lol! Every time I'm just that far away...I "failed". Ugh. So what do I do? Go right back at it of course.
I get stuck on video games every now and then. I rarely can beat the game though. I don't have that much patience...or time. When DS was a baby I bought a Playstation to keep myself busy (I actually had time on my hands with him!). I would be up playing Crash Badicoot all night. I did beat a couple of those. Then he became 2 y/o and started whooping on us! He would want to play and we'd amuse him by letting him push the buttons. Well, he really liked Tekken and soon after actually knew how to play! He figured out the special moves, somehow, and would just beat us to a pulp. LOL! Of course now that he's 12 with a Wii, it's hard to play certain games with him without wanting to break something afterwards. We bought him Godzilla for his Game Cube and it's like deja vu...he figured out all the special moves and won't let up till you're dead. Needless to say, he knows we won't play that one with him. Hahaha!
