My mom had a few loose diamonds and I was totally bummed that she had to sell them a while back to help pay the mortgage. She's been selling bits here and there of what ever jewelry she has to pay for things. Most of it was ugly or broken but I really would have liked to have those set into something for her one day.
It's really such a shame that so many of us have had to resort to selling off anything valuable that we have to make ends meet. It kind of makes me wonder if the next generation will have any heirlooms left to treasure at all.
