Mortgage Help
A couple of weeks ago my parents spent the entire weekend sitting at an event to help people renegotiate their mortgages as the last attempt to pull us out of the hole. This comapny works with the lenders to figure out the actual amount that the people can afford to pay including expenses like utilities, car insurance, and property taxes. They come up with a number and you go to see if the agreement will be accepted by the lender. We hadn't heard of this company before but they are growing in popularity since the country went down hill. THOUSANDS of people travel to these weekend events and camp out to get in. It's so big that they let 500 people into the arena from the line at a time! The great part is that it's a non-profit group too. Supposedly the deal should go through but they and to get the house appraised again because other sources inflated the amount. Anyway, it will be great if this does work out. Things will still be super tight but they won't be nearly as dire as they once were.
