Drop Out

Yeah, this wasn't the smartest thing I did in my life. I know that eventually it would be wise for me to go back and get some kind of degree so that I have something to show on paper. The one thing that's always held me back is that I never really knew what I wanted to do and sometimes I still don't. I've always kind of just gone with the flow and landed where I did. I've thought about doing one of those online degree programs but again, I'd have to figure out what I want to do. Another thing to worry about is cost but with an online university like Western Governors, which is private, there's a better financial aid program and the cost goes down. I really need to start figuring out what I want to do before I end up being 50 and still have no direction. LOL!

A Needle in a...

I think it's funny how people always assume that if they throw up a website that people will just end up flocking to it. Just because you build it doesn't mean that they will come and I think people tend to figure that out almost instantly. One thing that can help is by using the free directory submission sites. You can sign up and get listed in a lot of places all at once. Of course SEO and a bunch of other things are necessary too but that's a whole other topic.

Itchy, Itchy

The weather's really be fluctuating, so much so that for two weeks it would rain every other day! It's been really nice and warm this week but with that comes a change in my skin. I can't tell if it's just the weather or what. I never used to have anything like this and it doesn't last that long each time but it makes me wonder if I have eczema. Maybe if I look at some eczema pictures I can compare...the only thing is that I'm not sure I'd be able to tell anyway. LOL!

Moving Easily

I've always wondered if I have enough cartilage in my joints because if I'm kneeling on them or something you can hear creaking even with the slightest movement. I've thought about taking those glucosamine things but I don't know what joint health supplements are the better ones. DH used to take some and he said that they helped a bit and he could feel a difference but I'm not really sure if that's in his mind or not. I swear he'd be one of those people in a medical study given a placebo claiming a miracle. LOL!

Security

Isn't it funny how so many stores have those security cameras with the monitor placed at the door so you know you're being watched? I don't think there's a kid that doesn't love to make faces and stare at themselves in it upon entering. That must be really entertaining for the people watching them if they do, I know it would be a highlight of a boring day for me. LOL Even though they have those it almost makes oyu wonder sometimes how many cameras they actually have. Many times the camera bubbles on the ceiling are empty too so that you think there are more than there are. Normally I don't think of these things but every now and then I end up looking up wondering who's seeing me at that moment.

Magical Mary

DD has totally been into Mary Poppins lately and it's so funny to see her bring out her umbrella to "fly" with every time. I'm just waiting for the day where she want's a carpet bag that magically brings things out of it too. It's actually a fantastic time for me when that movie is on since she's so sucked into the fantasy of it that she can't break out of concentrating on it. It's the only thing that captures her attention this way and it's a nice change from the incessant ADD that she goes through all day. I don't love that she likes to watch TV so much but I do like when she watches things like this and enhances her imagination.

Teenage Blues

DS has found that he really dislikes being a teenager. All the hormone raging is driving both of us crazy, which is rather unusual since teens normally don't notice or care how they react to things. Acne is also becoming a pain for him and he keeps breaking out and doesn't know what to do about it. One of his friends asked him what to do about acne on the neck and I thought that was funny since he knows nothing about all that and frankly neither do I. LOL

Fabulously Formal

My mom is super excited because she will be going to a really upscale fundraiser this year that she's been wanting to go to for a while now. Of course it's not until the end of the year but this way she has some time to lose some weight, LOL. She found that she can't fit into any of her formal clothes that she has and can't really afford anything new for a while. I'm not sure just how formal this thing is but it sounded like the kind where everyone's dressed to the hilt and wear gowns and tuxedos. I actually wish I could go too because it sounds like a lot of fun and the highlight is the drawing for a number of items. There are Christmas trees fully decorated and include gifts to put under them and many have designer things in there. It would be totally awesome to win one of those for sure!

More Layoffs

My cousin lives in Minnesota and just got laid off, which is why he moved there. It's sad because they have an awesome piece of property and would hate to lose it. He's been on a Minneapolis job search for a while but nothing seems to be working out just yet. I hope it does since they sold their house out here thinking they wouldn't come back. Personally I would have kept that house, it's in quite a prestigious area and the rent would have been awesome income. Matter of fact, one time we had a gathering there there was also a fundraiser going on down the street for John Kerry when he ran for President, that was kind of exciting. LOL

Looking for a Laptop

I'm thinking that DS needs his own laptop, he keeps stealing the ones my parents have. He's thinking of a netbook but I think it may be more practical to just spend a little more to get a laptop which will do a little more. He REALLY wants a Mac but I don't think we want to spend THAT much right now. Although, macbook memory is better than a PC. I don't know, I think it's better just to get a starter one first and see how he does with it first. I'd give him mine and get a new one for myself but something tells me he doesn't want a pink one...LOL!
