Warmish Winter

It's been super warm here for a mid-western winter this year, so much that the girls actually got to go swimming with a few friends. Ok, it was an indoor pool, but at any rate they were still lucky because one of the pool heat pumps was out and it would have been too cold otherwise lol. They had a blast and obviously want to go back like, tomorrow and the next day. It's kind of hard to say no because the summers here are so hot that the pools become over crowded and it's easier to just sit in your bathtub at home lol.

Pick Me Ups

My BF loves coffee and lately I've had a craving for coffee flavored things as well. He has a coffee maker but he's really not so impressed with it, he only got that one because his mom was visiting and she always has to have her coffee. We were "window shopping" one day and he ended up looking at this bunn coffee maker, which is commercial lol. i thought it was pretty cool too but while he was looking at those, I ended up looking at frozen drink makers instead LOL. It would be fun to have all sorts of appliances, the only problem facing us right now is the lack of counter space in our kitchen.

Cleaning Up

My friend just purchased a rental property in NC and I am trying to help her out by figuring out how to rent the place out while she's not using it. I didn't realize how much was involved in something like this because most of the people I know have their places in a subdivision of sorts where cleaning and other services are combined. She was lucky and found house cleaning services holly springs nc that have great prices so that she can maintain the place well and know that it is taken care of. I'm so excited for her that she now has a retreat and a source of income!

Keeping my daughter's bedroom reasonably organized

Guest post written by Michele Rogers

Now, I don't expect my 8-year-old daughter to keep everything in her room completely organized and in place. But, it's been an issue here lately because it seems like I can rarely find a clear path on the floor of her room. I would really love to have the space for her to not only walk around but also be able to play in her own room. So I'm taking on the task of really getting her bedroom organized.

The stuff that probably takes up the most room in her room is all of her play clothes. She has so many of them and gets a lot of use out of them. I was online looking up for some good storage solutions for those play clothes and while I was doing that, I ran across a lot of info on Bathroom Remodeling. I looked through it quite a bit and after that I decided to get our guest bathroom remodeled. We had our master bathroom remodeled quite a while ago for some pleasing results.

I ordered her a nice little wardrobe for her dress up clothes in a step toward her organized kids bedroom. It's pink, which is just her style so of course she's going to love it.

Old School

I think it's kind of funny (and sad) that sometimes it seems our kids aren't learning what we did. Well, I'm sure they aren't since standards keep changing and such, but the things I hear asked can be so simple and they have no idea what they are. I overheard someone asking what micrometers are as if it was something completely foreign. I haven't had to sit and do homework in a number of years and having one starting into school all over again is going to totally throw me off, I think. LOL

Costumes

DS has to come up with some sort of costume for one of his classes. I can't remember exactly for what, but there's nothing that can be pre-bought about it, each kid has to come up with original ideas that they've pieced together themselves. I thought that was great considering how many fallbacks there are now, I never would have thought that buying a kit for your mission project would be acceptable. He's decided to go and look through some welding supplies and get a start there. I thought that was a great idea considering some of the shapes things come in. Hopefully he ends up with something fantastic.

YAY for TV!

It's been so long since I've actually been willing and able to sit down and watch TV like a normal person, I had really began to miss it. Since my BF has gone back to work, I've been having some nice evenings sitting around watching "dumb" TV and I love it! LOL! It's really funny to see what types of show's the networks have come up with, I never thought I'd see something about cloning your pets or extreme cheapskates. Of course it is pretty stupid, but I also find it interesting to see what other people do and how they live...and of course, have a good laugh when I think they're being totally outrageous.
